Evolve Resale Store and Program to Close June 27, 2025

After more than a decade of service, COPE Community Services, Inc. has made the difficult decision to close the Evolve Resale Store and Job Training Program. Operations will officially conclude on June 27, 2025.

Originally launched as the Rise Equipment Recycling Center, Evolve began with a mission to reduce electronic waste—but quickly grew into something more. It became a vibrant space for sustainability, service, and second chances.

Over the years, Evolve welcomed thousands of donations from community members and businesses, offering gently used household and electronic items a second life. Beyond resale, the program offered hands-on job training to individuals seeking to rebuild their lives, making a lasting impact on both workforce development and personal growth.

Despite its incredible impact, the program has faced mounting challenges. Persistent safety concerns, stemming from increasing crime in the neighborhood, have resulted in ongoing property damage and unhygienic conditions surrounding the building, rendering it financially unsustainable.

As we begin the process of winding down, the public is invited to shop at Evolve (1134 S. Park Avenue). All items are now deeply discounted as we work to reduce inventory.

We extend our immense gratitude to the incredible team behind Evolve. Their dedication, passion, and belief in our mission have touched lives and uplifted our community. And to our supporters, thank you for making this journey possible.

Although this chapter is coming to a close, the spirit of Evolve will live on in the lives it helped transform and the community it served so proudly.
